On June 19th , our Clay Terrace store manager, Jackie Wilson will celebrate 11 years with Classic Cleaners. Congratulations, Jackie!

If you’re a customer of Jackie’s chances are you’re a “friend” of hers too. She is wonderful at establishing relationships and personal connections with her customers. Over the last 11 years, she has been a part of many births, graduations, marriages, and other milestones her customers and their families experience. That’s what Jackie values most about her role with Classic Cleaners: The relationships with her customers.

What some of her customers may not know is that Jackie has 51 years in the dry cleaning business! Before Jackie was going to enroll in college to study to become a teacher, she took a “temporary” job with a local dry cleaner in St. Louis where she lived at the time. From that day she was hooked – she never left the business. She stayed with that company 21 years and held various roles with the company including running the production plant.

Approximately 30 years ago, Jackie’s husband was transferred to Indianapolis and at the time Jackie thought she’d try something new; something different than the dry cleaning industry once settled after the move. But, she enjoyed it too much so she took a position with a local dry cleaner no longer in business, and stayed there 10 years. She then went to work for another dry cleaner where she cleaned, spotted (stain removal) and pressed items for 11 years before joining Classic in 2006.

Currently, Jackie is our store manager at our retail store in Clay Terrace and it’s safe to say if you have any questions on what happens to your garments behind the scenes, she will be able to answer them.

Living just 4 four minutes away from the store in a neighborhood with a lake big enough for her 9 grandchildren to fish in, Jackie loves the short commute to work every day. Her three grown children live locally and she adores being grandma to their children. Spending time with family is important to Jackie when she isn’t working and, lucky for us she doesn’t plan on retiring any time soon. She loves her customers too much!

Also, lucky for us, Jackie bakes delicious cupcakes with a kick: Cream filled with Jameson. They’re delicious!

Next time you’re in the store, ask her how much she loves her White Castle – LOL! She says they sometimes make an appearance during manager meetings when she gets the craving.

We all know how much Jackie is appreciated by her customers because they tell us! Thank you Jackie and Congratulations on another year of great service to our Classic Cleaners customers!
