We've Seen Worse. Bring It In.

A stain has a way of making you write off a garment before it deserves to be. Before you do that, bring it to Classic Cleaners.

Our stain removal specialists have decades of combined experience treating everything from red wine and grease to dried blood and ink. We approach every stain individually, using the right method and the right tools for the specific stain and fabric. Most of the time, we get it out. And when we can’t completely remove it, we’ll tell you exactly why.

Most Stains Don't Stand a Chance

We regularly treat and remove a wide range of stains including oil and grease, dirt and grass, food and beverage stains, ink, dye, and paint, lipstick and cosmetics, and dried blood and bodily fluids.

If your stain isn’t on this list, bring it in anyway. Our specialists will assess it and let you know what’s possible before any work begins.

A Process Built Around the Stain, Not the Other Way Around

There’s no single solution that works on every stain. Getting it right takes a trained eye, a careful hand, and the right combination of techniques for each individual job.

We start by identifying the type of stain and the fabric it’s on. Both matter. A technique that works perfectly on cotton can damage silk, so we never skip this step.

Before the garment goes through any cleaning process, the stain is pre-treated using the appropriate solution for that specific stain type. This is where most of the real work happens.

Our specialists have a full range of professional tools at their disposal including steam guns, compressed air for drying, specialized brushes, and a wide selection of stain-fighting solutions. We use whichever combination gives the stain the best chance of coming out completely.

After cleaning, every garment is inspected to confirm the result. If a stain has been fully removed, great. If there’s still something there, we’ll let you know before you pick it up.

What to Do Before Bringing Your Garment In

A Few Things That Help Us Help You

The sooner you bring a stained garment in, the better. Fresh stains are almost always easier to treat than ones that have been set in by time, heat, or previous attempts at home removal.

A couple of things worth keeping in mind before you drop off. Avoid rubbing the stain, as this pushes it deeper into the fabric. Avoid applying home remedies like hairspray, club soda, or salt, as these can set certain stains or complicate the removal process. And if you know what caused the stain, let us know. It helps us choose the right treatment from the start.

When a Stain Can't Be Fully Removed

We'll Always Be Straight With You

Most stains can be treated successfully. But some, particularly those that have been heat-set, chemically altered, or left untreated for a long time, may not come out completely.

If we reach that point, we won’t pretend otherwise. We’ll attach a note to your garment explaining what we found and why full removal wasn’t possible. You’ll never pick up a garment and wonder what happened.

Where Stain Removal Also Plays a Role

Stain treatment isn’t limited to everyday garments. Our specialists also apply advanced stain removal as part of several other services including wedding gown cleaning and preservation, gown restoration, heirloom restoration, bedding and comforter cleaning, window treatment cleaning, and table linen cleaning.
