Good Clothes Are Worth Keeping
A broken zipper, a torn seam, a button that’s gone missing. These things happen to even the most well-made garments, and most of the time they don’t mean the end of something you love wearing.
Classic Cleaners’ Alteration Specialist have over 35 years of experience bringing garments back from exactly these kinds of situations, using quality materials and techniques that hold up over time.
If something in your wardrobe is damaged but not beyond saving, bring it in.
From Small Fixes to More Involved Work
Most repairs cost less and take less time than you’d expect. Whatever the damage, our Alteration Specialist handle it with the same quality materials and attention regardless of the job size.
- Zippers
A broken or stuck zipper doesn’t mean a garment is done. We replace zippers on jackets, trousers, dresses, and bags, using quality replacements that match the original as closely as possible.
- Lining Repairs
Jacket and coat linings take a lot of wear from the inside out. We repair torn or detached linings so your outer garment continues to look and feel the way it should.
- Seams and Tears
Open seams, fabric tears, and fraying edges are among the most common garment issues we see and among the most straightforward to fix when caught early. We repair seams on all garment types and handle fabric tears with care to minimize any visible trace of the damage.
- Elbow and Fabric Patches
For jackets and coats showing wear at the elbows or other high-friction areas, we patch and reinforce so the garment keeps going.
- Buttons and Fasteners
Loose, cracked, or missing buttons and fasteners are replaced using well-matched replacements. For garments with unique or decorative buttons, we’ll do our best to source a close match or work with what’s available.
- Quilts and Specialty Items
We also repair quilts and other specialty fabric items. If you’re not sure whether we can help, bring it in and we’ll take a look.
What We Alter
More Than Just Hemming
We handle a full range of alterations and repairs including:
- Hems and Length
Hemming dresses, skirts, and pants, shortening or lengthening pant and skirt hems, and shortening sleeves on shirts, jackets, and coats.
- Fit Adjustments
Letting out and taking in dresses, skirts, and pants, tapering unlined pant legs, taking in or letting out waistbands, and nipping in fabric around the hips on pants, skirts, and dresses.
- Repairs
Replacing zippers, replacing buttons and fasteners, repairing fabric tears, patching jacket elbows, and repairing quilts.
If your alteration isn’t listed here, bring it in anyway. If it’s something our Alteration Specialist can fix, they will.
Better for Your Wallet. Better for the Planet.
Fast fashion has made it easy to treat clothing as disposable, but quality garments are built to last well beyond a single season. Repairing something you already own almost always costs less than replacing it, and it keeps a well-made piece in your wardrobe instead of a landfill.
Our Alteration Specialist work with a wide range of fabrics and garment types, from everyday casual wear to tailored suits, formal pieces, outerwear, and specialty items. If the garment has value to you, it has value to us.
Bring It In and We'll Take a Look
